ABOUT THE FIELD DROP PROJECT

In May 2025, I hit the road with 24 small black boxes—each one sealed with eyes and arms, then left behind with intention. This project isn’t necessarily about merch or marketing—it’s about mystery, connection, and care. I dropped each box like a time capsule in cities I passed through—Milwaukee, Chicago, Kalamazoo, Detroit, Colombus, and Beautiful places in between—hoping the right people would find them. =)

Inside each Field Drop: a candle for reflection, music to scan, stickers to keep or share, and one handwritten note—no two alike. It’s all part of something bigger. One day, Out Here Records & Tapes will be more than a name. It’ll be a real place. Until then, this is how I build it. One ride, one song, one surprise at a time.

Creatively music is where my roots began as a form of self expression. Eventually taking advantage of the opportunity to offer ride share services and connect with the community, this formed the desire to build a brand. I began making candles in 2020 when covid shut the world down, I used this as away to promote self care and meditation. I was able to offer these as a gift to my rideshare passengers while showcasing my graphic design skills. a few frequent passengers call me “the candle guy” if they only knew, i’m trying to build something more.
